Women with Drive Inviting Participation in National Mentorship Working Group
What is it?
The National Mentorship Working Group (NMWG) stems from the action plan developed in 2014 by the Women with Drive National Advisory Committee.
The industry research and surveys that led to the action plan identified several tools that could be used to improve women’s participation in the trucking industry, one of them being more focus on mentorship.
A step forward in implementing key components of the action plan is the establishment of a national working group focused on mentorship.
Why should you get involved?
The NMWG is an open forum for the exchange ideas that will benefit women, and everyone who recruits, retains or mentors women, in Canada’s trucking industry. As an industry professional, your insights and input will be a valuable contribution to the project, and will support women who are interested in trucking and freight transportation careers in achieving their goals.
When is it?
The first meeting will take place on March 4th, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Center, the day before the Women with Drive 2015 Leadership Summit being held at the same location.
How do I take part?
If you are interested in getting involved with the mentorship working group, please contact Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada by e-mail asplinter@truckinghr.com or by telephone at 613-244-4800 extension 304.
